Samsung has released information about the latest security updates for Galaxy phone and tablet models. As usual, details about the patched security vulnerabilities are revealed.
The July 2024 security update patches a total of 25 vulnerabilities discovered in Android. There are also 33 vulnerabilities that only affect patched Galaxy phones and tablets.
Of the 25 vulnerabilities in the Android operating system, four are marked as critical. The remainder is considered high-risk. Samsung also mentioned that there are two patches that do not apply to Galaxy devices and are not included in the patch.
Most of the 33 vulnerabilities only affect Galaxy devices marked as high or medium severity, allowing attackers to gain access to user data and the ability to launch tasks without requiring user permission.
The July 2024 security update also includes patches for two vulnerabilities that only affect certain phone and watch models running Samsung's Exynos processor, including processors that are half a decade old. century like the Exynos 9820 - which is equipped with the Galaxy S10 series launched in 2019.
