Samsung revealed its earnings for the third quarter of this year. The company expects consumer demand to remain flat for the rest of the year. However, the company has big plans to improve its business next year. Samsung recently confirmed that it will launch a mixed reality (XR) device next year.
Samsung’s mixed reality (XR) device will launch in 2025
According to IDC analyst Bryan Ma, in a slide deck for investors, Samsung wrote that it will improve connectivity between its products – including XR devices – “to further enhance the user experience across the Galaxy ecosystem.” Samsung indirectly confirmed that it plans to launch an XR device in 2025.
Samsung first teased its XR device earlier this year when it announced the Galaxy S24 series. The company said it was working with Google and Qualcomm to develop an XR device. Samsung is said to be using a version of Android optimized for XR devices and the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor.
The product could use a Micro OLED or OLEDoS panel with a high refresh rate and multiple cameras. Currently, many details about the product are still unclear. Hopefully, more information about the product will be revealed next year.
The slide also mentions the Galaxy S25 series, confirming that the company will launch the successor to the Galaxy S24 series in 2025.
