If you've been following One UI 7 news regularly, you'll know that the release schedule for this update has been pretty vague. Initial leaks suggested that the One UI 7.0 beta would be released in late July. However, that didn't happen.

Samsung later announced that the One UI 7 beta would be released in late 2024, while the stable version would be released alongside the Galaxy S25 series in 2025. However, a tipster is casting doubt on this timeline.

Tipster Ice Universe took to Weibo to say that One UI 7.0 will be the shortest-lived One UI version in Samsung's mobile OS history.

According to the report, the Galaxy S24 series will start testing One UI 7.0 in December 2024. Then, early next year, the Galaxy S25 series will hit the shelves with One UI 7.1 instead of One UI 7.0. It should be noted that this is just a rumor. Also, i Ice Universe and many other tipsters have not accurately predicted the release date of One UI 7 so far.

It is important to note that this rumor does not contradict Samsung's official announcement. The company announced the release date of One UI 7 at the Samsung Developer Conference yesterday. Accordingly, One UI 7 will be launched alongside the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung did not specify whether it is One UI 7.0 or One UI 7.1.

Recent high-end Galaxy phones have typically shipped with a minor One UI update, which has version numbers x.1 and x.1.1. This tradition will not change if the Galaxy S25 series ships with One UI 7.1. However, this means that One UI 7.0 will have a very short lifespan.
