The One UI 7 Beta Program has been delayed for weeks. Samsung was supposed to launch the program in late July. However, it's already mid-September and there's still no sign of One UI 7.0. Fortunately, it looks like Samsung is finally ready to release the first beta of One UI 7.0 as testing enters its next phase.

One UI 7.0 beta is being tested by Samsung subsidiaries

It has been reported that several Samsung subsidiaries (such as Samsung India and Samsung UK) have started testing the One UI 7.0 beta, suggesting that the One UI 7 Beta Program is about to begin.

Samsung usually tests beta software in China, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US first. The One UI 7.0 beta has been tested in these countries for weeks. Recently, testing has begun even in countries that are not usually included in the One UI Beta Program.

Samsung is rolling out One UI 6.1.1 to many high-end Galaxy phones in most markets around the world. Unlike previous One UI x.1.1 updates, One UI 6.1.1 is quite large with many new Galaxy AI features. In addition, One UI 6.1.1 also comes to flat-screen phones, which are not usually exposed to One UI x.1.1.

As a result, Samsung has been quite busy, causing the One UI 7 Beta Program to be delayed. In addition, there are also reports that Google is partly responsible for this delay.

What can you expect from One UI 7.0?

One UI 7.0 is said to feature a number of significant changes and improvements, including smoother animations, a split Quick Panel and App Screen into two separate pages, a new Camera app that supports better one-handed use, and new icons for native apps.

Additionally, One UI 7.0 will feature a new charging animation, support for sending SMS messages over 5G, a new lock screen opening animation, new widgets for both the home and lock screens and support for creating large folders on the home screen. Finally, there's a new battery icon, adjustable background opacity, the ability to adjust the size of app icons, and Dynamic Island.

Samsung will focus on software stability with One UI 7.0. According to the leak, TM Roh – head of Samsung MX – is directly overseeing the development process. Hence, the company may have decided to delay the One UI 7.0 beta release date to provide more stable software to users.
