The Galaxy S23 Ultra has been spotted running One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. This shows that while Samsung is busy with the Galaxy Unpacked event, the company is still developing One UI 7.0 for existing devices.
Galaxy S23 Ultra running One UI 7.0 was discovered online
A Galaxy S24+ has been spotted running One UI 7.0. Yesterday, @tarunvats also discovered the predecessor generation – Galaxy S23 Ultra – running new software. The Geekbench database shows a US carrier variant running Android 15, which is the basis of One UI 7.0.
Google has announced that Android 15 is stable enough. So, Samsung may be testing the new software on existing phone models before rolling out the One UI 7.0 Beta Program in the next few months.
Samsung may prioritize opening the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 series before the Galaxy S23 series. After about two to three months of testing, Samsung will release the stable version of One UI 7.0 for high-end Galaxy S and Galaxy Z phones.
After Samsung releases One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the product will only receive two more OS updates. The company has promised to release four Android updates and five years of security updates for the Galaxy S23 series. The same applies to the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6 series will receive security and operating system updates for seven years.
