Recently, Samsung launched One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Tab S9 series. Not long after, several problems emerged. On Samsung's community forum, some owners of the above devices (except the Galaxy Tab S9 series) have complained that the charging speed has been reduced.
For example, a Galaxy Z Fold 5 user in the US said that despite still using the old 25W charger that came with it, his phone was only charging at 15W, up to 40% slower. He also said in his post that he saw many Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy S23 series users complaining about this issue on social media.
Meanwhile, in a community forum for those in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), one person said: “Attention People using fast chargers for s23 Ultra, now the charging speed is limited to 15W, even if you have a 25W bulb.”
One UI 6.1 fixes the screen burn-in issue that One UI 6.0 caused. In addition, One UI 6.1 also offers several new generative AI features, including the ability to remove or move objects in photos or turn any clip into slow-motion video. This update also brings the popular Universal Search Field feature. With this feature, you can use your finger or the S Pen to circle an object on the screen to learn more about it.
Live Interpretation is another cool feature. The two calling parties can understand each other even if they don't speak the same language because what they say is translated in real-time. Furthermore, this feature works even if only one party uses a supported device running One UI 6.1.
Additionally, not everyone is convinced that One UI 6.1 makes devices charge slower. The people at SamMobile believe that the charging speed is reduced because the battery is about to be fully charged.
