After leading the phone market with Galaxy AI on its high-end phones, Samsung is ready to bring Galaxy AI to some mid-range devices.
Samsung has revealed a list of mid-range Galaxy phones and tablets that support Galaxy AI, more specifically Circle to Google search. This is an artificial intelligence and machine learning feature developed by Google and not exclusive to Samsung devices.
However, the move still marks an important milestone in Samsung's goal of bringing AI to as many people as possible. In the future, the company may bring some more suitable Galaxy AI features to affordable devices.
List of mid-range Galaxy devices that support Circle to Google search
Circle to Google search is just the starting point. Here's a list of mid-range Galaxy devices that support the feature:
- Galaxy A55
- Galaxy A54
- Galaxy A35
- Galaxy A34
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE
- Galaxy Tab S9 FE+
Samsung will bring Circle to Google search to the devices listed above with a software update this August. Tablets, meanwhile, will have to wait a little longer, presumably because Circle to Google search is a core feature of One UI 6.1.1, which brings improvements to several Galaxy tablets and foldable phones.
What is Circle to Google search?
As the name suggests, Circle to Google search is a new way to quickly learn about anything on your screen without having to switch apps. Just circle or tap on any text or image on the screen to learn more. Additionally, Circle to Google Search can also identify the song that is playing, just like Shazam.
Circle to Google Search replaces Google Assistant. In other words, you can activate Circle to Google Search by holding down the Home key. Google Assistant is still there to support traditional searches. However, you have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen after activating Circle to Google Search to access Google Assistant.
