There are some rumors about a thinner or more advanced version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, this product will not be launched at the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. According to a new report, the product has not been canceled and will be released a few months later.
Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” may have a larger screen
According to a report from THEELEC, Samsung is developing a thinner version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 with a larger screen. According to sources, the product will have a 6.5" external screen and an 8" main screen. If so, both screens of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” are larger than that of the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
The product is said to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024. Samsung plans to produce about 400,000 to 500,000 devices because the product will only be sold in certain markets, including China.
Samsung's goal is to show the world that it can create a device thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, to achieve this goal, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 "Slim" will not be compatible with the S Pen. According to sources, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 "Slim" has a better configuration than the Galaxy Z Fold 6 but the detailed configuration has not been disclosed.
Some reports in the past have claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” will have a more advanced camera system than the Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, it is still unclear whether the product will be equipped with up to four rear cameras, like Galaxy S24 Ultra or not.
According to sources, a component manufacturer in Samsung's supply chain said the Galaxy Z Fold 6 "Slim" began research in the first quarter of the year. Samsung usually takes a year to develop high-end phones. Therefore, it is not surprising that the product was released later than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
If the Galaxy Z Fold 6 “Slim” really has a larger screen and better configuration, don't be surprised if the product is more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
