Samsung has released the April 2024 update for Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Tab S9 series, and Galaxy A52 devices. It comes with the latest security patch and will be updated on other eligible devices soon.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 receive Samsung's April update
This update started rolling out at the end of March with the first devices to receive it being the Galaxy S24 series. It helps fix more than 40 security vulnerabilities, including a serious bug in the Android operating system. Since the company is also offering the One UI 6.1 update to eligible devices, the security patch has been pushed back for a while.
However, currently, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 are receiving the April security update in Europe. The new firmware build numbers for the 2023 folding screen duo are F946BXXS1CXCH and F731BXXS1CXCK respectively. Samsung will soon roll it out to other regions, including the United States.
They will receive nothing but the latest security fixes. This comes as no surprise as Samsung recently updated the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 to One UI 6.1. It brings new AI features, camera improvements, minor UI tweaks, and many other changes and improvements.
The Galaxy Tab S9 series is similar as they recently received One UI 6.1 with a bunch of new features. So the April update will only include security fixes. It is being released in Korea with a build number ending with the letters BXD2. The global roll-out will take place soon.
Galaxy A52 will receive One UI 6.1 after the April security patch
As a qualified device, the Galaxy A52 has not yet received the One UI 6.1 update. It hasn't even updated the improvements that the Galaxy S22 series and older foldable devices received. They will all be upgraded to One UI 6.1 in the coming weeks.
Previously, the Galaxy A52 received the April security update in some markets in Europe and Asia. Samsung will soon release it to other regions in the next few days. If you're using any of these Galaxy devices, pay attention to the notification prompting you to download the latest security update.
