Samsung has made many fans happy by using Qualcomm processors for the entire Galaxy S23 line launched last year. However, this joy will soon end when Samsung returns to its old ways this year. More specifically, the company will sell the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ running Exynos in most countries worldwide.
A recent rumor suggests that Samsung may sell the Snapdragon variant of the Galaxy S24+ in more countries than the previous generation. However, this is unsubstantiated information. So, except for the US, Canada, Japan, and China, all other markets can get the Exynos 2400-powered Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the only model equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 regardless of where you buy it. But according to a new rumor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in some markets. However, this rumor is not necessarily accurate.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra will have maximum performance no matter where you buy it.
For those who don't remember, Samsung used an overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for its high-end Galaxy phones. Samsung will continue the same strategy in 2024 to have an advantage over other Android phone brands. The most powerful CPU core of the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is clocked at 3.3GHz. Meanwhile, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy may have the most powerful CPU core running at a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz.
However, based on information revealed by Geekbench, Samsung seems to have tested both standard and exclusive variants of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 during development. Some benchmarks show that the CPU is only clocked at 3.3GHz. Perhaps this is the source of the rumor that not all Galaxy S24 Ultras will have equivalent performance.
However, all recent benchmarks show that every customer choosing the Galaxy S24 Ultra will get the overclocked variant of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Meanwhile, the standard variant will be used for the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. As always, these two phones will have 8GB of RAM, although the Galaxy S24+ will have the option of 12GB of RAM if you pay more.
The Galaxy S24 series will be officially announced on January 18 at Samsung's Unpacked event in San Jose, California, and could go on sale by the end of the month.
