The Galaxy S24 FE received the October 2024 update a few days ago. Now, it's the turn of the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The October 2024 update for the Galaxy S24 series is rolling out in the US first. Currently, only the locked variants are getting the update. Hopefully, the unlocked variants and other regions will also get the update soon.
A software update focused entirely on security
The October 2024 security patch fixes 30 security vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and 12 vulnerabilities that only exist on Galaxy devices. There's also a patch for some Galaxy phones and watches running certain Exynos processors. The Exynos 2400 is not included in the list, so this patch doesn't apply to the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.
You can identify the update for the Galaxy S24 series by checking if the last four characters of the baseband version are AXI1. To download the update manually, open the Settings app, scroll down to Software Update, and tap Download and Install.
This update only includes the October 2024 security patch, nothing else. The stable version of One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series won't be available until early 2025. However, you can opt into the One UI Beta Program later this year if you don't want to wait too long.
