The Galaxy Ring – Samsung’s first smart ring – was launched a few months ago. It was only available in select countries. Now, the Galaxy Ring has received its first software update.

Galaxy Ring receives its first software update to improve stability

The first software update for the Galaxy Ring has arrived in the US with the baseband version Q50XWWU2AXH1 and has a download size of just 0.64MB. The changelog says that the update improves the stability of the connection via Bluetooth. Additionally, Samsung Health has also received stability improvements.

While I don’t know exactly what Samsung is referring to, I’m guessing that some users have been facing the Galaxy Ring disconnecting and Samsung is working on a fix. Additionally, the company may have improved the performance and accuracy of the fitness tracking capabilities available through the Samsung Health app.

Galaxy Ring Features

The Galaxy Ring is made of titanium and comes in three color options: Titanium Black, Titanium Gold, and Titanium Silver. It is IP68 dust and water-resistant and 10 ATM water-resistant.

The Galaxy Ring has an accelerometer, gyroscope, and heart rate sensor to track your fitness and health. It syncs with the Samsung Health app on Galaxy phones and tablets. It feels more comfortable to wear than the Galaxy Watch, especially when I'm sleeping.

The Galaxy Ring can track your sleep time, sleep quality, heart rate, and fitness. However, it doesn't have GPS. So the Galaxy Ring's outdoor fitness tracking isn't as accurate as the Galaxy Watch. However, you can bring your phone with you to make up for this.

The Galaxy Ring lasts five to seven days on a full charge. The included Qi2 charging case provides an additional 15 days of battery life.
