Don't let junk apps take over your device!

In general, if an application can be removed normally, you can safely remove it. Depending on your Galaxy phone model, carrier, and One UI version, your device may have pre-installed apps that aren't listed in this article. I use Galaxy S23 Ultra. So, if you use a device from the Galaxy S23 series, the list of pre-installed applications on your device will be very similar to mine.

How to avoid installing junk apps on Samsung Galaxy phones
When setting up a new Galaxy device, you'll be asked if you want to download any additional apps. The applications displayed are already marked. So take the time to uncheck the apps you don't need. That way, you won't have to manually uninstall them one by one later when you realize you don't need them at all.

Apps you can safely uninstall or disable from your Samsung Galaxy phone
Deleting applications on Galaxy phones is very simple. Many pre-installed apps can be uninstalled or disabled using the Settings app, while a few require special ADB commands to remove them. Additionally, there are many pre-installed system-related apps that you can safely remove. However, I do not recommend that ordinary users do so.

Here is a list of apps that you can safely uninstall or disable on your Samsung Galaxy phone:

  • Smart Switch
  • Samsung Pass
  • SmartThings
  • Samsung Members
  • Samsung Wallet
  • Samsung DeX
  • Game Launcher
  • Samsung Kids
  • Samsung Health
  • Samsung Global Goals
  • Galaxy Store
  • Find your mobile
  • Samsung Internet
  • Samsung Health Monitor
  • Samsung Cloud
  • PENUP
  • Galaxy Themes
  • Microsoft Office
  • Samsung Notes
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Bixby
  • LinkedIn

Many of the above apps are Samsung's replacements for Google apps like Chrome and Drive. You can safely uninstall them because they don't affect how your device works, especially if you like to use Google apps.

Conclusion
The Galaxy S23 series comes with the latest version of One UI 5. And they will soon be upgraded to One UI 6 based on Android 14. As mentioned, there are many Samsung phone models, carriers, and versions. One UI is different so I can pay attention to it all. So I cannot list all the pre-installed applications in your device. However, this article will still help you clean up your phone a bit.

After removing all the junk apps from your device, you may want to tweak the loading screen a bit to get the most out of your device.
