Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Quantum 5 in South Korea. This is the latest device in the Galaxy Quantum series, which is famous for its exclusive quantum encryption technology.
The Galaxy Quantum 5 is basically the same as the Galaxy A55 but equipped with a quantum security chip. It is exclusive to the Korean market and distributed exclusively by SK Telecom, so you won't be able to buy it if you live in other markets.
The Galaxy Quantum 5 comes with the AI feature that Samsung just updated for the Galaxy A55 called Circle to Search, which allows users to easily search by drawing a circle on the screen. It has a 6.6-inch screen, slightly larger than the 6.4-inch screen on its predecessor, along with a 50MP wide-angle camera for better low-light photography.
Like its predecessors, the Galaxy Quantum 5 features a QRNG (Quantum Random Number Generator) chipset, which allows information stored on external storage to be encrypted using QRNG. It also has a “Quantum Indicator” on the status bar to indicate that quantum security services are active. This notification can be turned on or off, but the QRNG function remains active as the system default.
Despite the many upgrades, the Galaxy Quantum 5 retains the same price tag of 618,200 won as its predecessor. The device comes in three color options: Awesome Ice Blue, Awesome Navy, and Awesome Lilac.
“The Galaxy Quantum 5 is the latest addition to the Galaxy Quantum series, combining high-end performance with advanced AI features,” said Yoo Chul-jun, Head of SK Telecom’s Smart Devices Division. “We will continue to strive to provide customers with convenient AI functions at a reasonable price.”
