Samsung has been improving the Galaxy ecosystem over the past few years. Now, with One UI 7.0, it has introduced new features to make Galaxy phones and computers more closely integrated.
Galaxy phones can become webcams for Galaxy Book with One UI 7.0
The first beta of One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series released in a few countries brings the ability to turn your Galaxy phone into a webcam for your Galaxy Book computer.
To enable this feature, you need to navigate to Settings → Connected devices on your Galaxy phone and enable Camera Sharing.
On your Galaxy Book computer, you can enable this feature by opening the Samsung Settings app and navigating to Connected devices → Camera Sharing.
For this feature to work, you need to enable Bluetooth, Camera Sharing, and Wi-Fi on your Galaxy Book computer and your Galaxy phone.
Storage Sharing Lets You Browse Files on Your Galaxy Phone from Your Galaxy Book
Another new feature that comes with One UI 7.0 is storage sharing. According to the One UI 7.0 Tips app, Storage Sharing lets you browse photos, movies, and files on your Galaxy phone or tablet from your Windows 11 computer without connecting them via USB.
Currently, this feature doesn't seem to work on the Galaxy S24 series running One UI 7.0 beta and the Galaxy Book. Samsung may still be actively developing this feature.
Phone Link already offers two similar features. However, if you don't want to use Microsoft's Phone Link and Link to Windows, you can use Samsung's Camera Sharing and Storage Sharing features.
