The new update for Galaxy Buds 2 Pro brings Auracast Bluetooth support

The new software update for Galaxy Buds 2 Pro has a Baseband version of R510XXUAWI2 or R510XXU0AWI2 and weighs 5.88 MB. You can download the update through the Galaxy Wearable app. Just press the ≡ key on the left edge of the screen and then select Galaxy Buds2 Pro. Then, navigate to Headset Settings → Headphone Software Update and tap Update. Once the update is downloaded, it will take about 2 – 5 minutes to install.

What is Bluetooth Auracast?

Bluetooth Auracast is a new technology announced in mid-2022. It provides the ability to stream audio to a series of Bluetooth wireless headphones and speakers at the same time. For example, a Neo QLED TV can wirelessly stream audio to all pairs of Galaxy Buds 2 Pro headphones via Bluetooth, allowing people to listen to audio from the TV without disturbing others who aren't watching TV.

Plus, you and all your friends can simultaneously listen to music from your phone using compatible pairs of Galaxy Buds via a Bluetooth connection. This feature works based on Bluetooth LE Audio technology. Auracast Bluetooth-enabled products began hitting the market this year.

Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is Samsung's only wireless headset model that supports both Bluetooth LE Audio and LC3 audio codec. We expect more Galaxy devices in the future to support these two technologies.
