Besides the Galaxy A35, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy A55. This is a mid-range phone model with the company's most premium feel. The Galaxy A55 has a metal frame, a powerful new processor, and some camera features found on the high-end Galaxy S line.

Galaxy A55 has a metal frame and Exynos 1480 processor with AMD GPU

Galaxy A55 is the first Galaxy A series phone model with a frame made of metal. Besides, the front and back are covered with glass. As usual, the Galaxy A55 meets IP67 dust and water resistance standards.

The product has a 6.6โ€ณ Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, Vision Booster, and Gorilla Glass Victus. Screen brightness can reach 1000 nits in direct sunlight and is even higher when playing HDR content. The Galaxy A55 has stereo speakers, helping to provide a better experience of watching movies, listening to music, and playing games. In addition, the product is equipped with an optical fingerprint sensor under the screen.

The Exynos 1480 processor manufactured on the 4nm process is the brain of the Galaxy A55. It has four high-performance Cortex-A78 CPU cores clocked at 2.75GHz, four power-efficient Cortex-A55 CPU cores clocked at 2GHz, and an Xclipse 530 GPU based on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture. Samsung says CPU and GPU performance are 15% and 32% better, respectively, than the previous generation. Therefore, the Galaxy A55 can handle the heaviest games.

The product has 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB memory. This is the first Galaxy A series phone model with up to 12GB RAM option. Additionally, you can use the microSD card slot to expand memory.

Galaxy A55 comes pre-installed with One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 right from the factory. Just like other mid-range Samsung phones, the Galaxy A55 will receive four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates. The product is full of advanced security features such as Auto Blocker, Samsung Knox, and Samsung Knox Vault.

The Galaxy A55's camera supports Dark Eye and Super HDR video recording

The Galaxy A55's camera is improved in many aspects. The product has three rear cameras: a 50MP wide-angle with optical image stabilization (OIS) and autofocus, a 12MP ultra-wide angle, and a 5MP macro. The front has a 32MP camera. The 50MP and 12MP lenses can record 4K30 movies with video digital image stabilization (VDIS).

The advanced AI image processor inside the Exynos 1480 helps upgrade the low-light photography capabilities of the Galaxy A55 even further. Thanks to that, the product supports Night Portrait mode. This is also the first phone model in the Galaxy A series capable of recording 12-bit Super HDR movies with a wider dynamic range and more colors.

Galaxy A55 is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. Connectivity includes GPS, 5G, dual physical SIM, eSIM, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB-C port. The product has four color options: cool blue, light yellow, lilac purple, and navy blue.
