After launching the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Samsung released an update for the camera. After a while, another small update is rolled out. Not all camera-related issues are fixed, though. Therefore, Samsung is planning to address them with one more update.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra's camera could be improved in July
According to @UniverseIce, Samsung has started testing a major software update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The reporter claims this update includes many camera-related improvements and will be the largest software update ever for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. It is expected that this update will be released in July 2024, possibly with the launch of Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 as well as One UI 6.1.1 for existing products.
Galaxy S24 Ultra users have a lot of complaints about the camera, including the sky looking dirty and noisy, especially in low light. Other issues include motion blur, color banding in shots with the sky, overexposure of certain parts, and an oil painting-like effect in shots zoomed 10x or more.
Some other camera-related issues found on the Galaxy S24 include movies shot in low light conditions being heavily grainy. Upcoming updates may not fix all issues. We will only have more details when Samsung releases more information in the coming weeks.
Since Samsung isn't releasing One UI x.1.1 for traditional flat-screen phones, the next major update for the Galaxy S24 Ultra won't be called One UI 6.1.1. If you are a Galaxy S24 Ultra user, you will have to wait for the July 2024 update for the improved camera system.
