Samsung introduced Instant Slo-Mo to the Galaxy S24 as one of its many generative AI features for the Galaxy S24 series. This feature allows users to instantly slow down any video they are watching from the gallery by long pressing on the video. Now, this feature is about to support HDR10+.

Instant Slo-Mo works by using generative AI to create new frames in the video, which are then inserted between real frames. The result is an artificially stretched video with a slow-motion effect applied.

Currently, you can't use this feature with HDR10+ video without losing the video's dynamic range. The same is true if you try to save it as SDR. However, this will obviously change in the near future.

SamMobile, an official moderator of the Samsung Korea community forum has confirmed that developers are working to add support for HDR10+. The moderator also added that support will come with the next software update. However, they did not clarify whether they meant the next regular software update or the next operating system update.

Instant Slo-Mo is a fun feature and makes smart use of AI generation. Samsung said Instant Slo-Mo will be available on the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series, but there is no release date on these devices.
