But how to flash update your Samsung Note 20 Ultra to support eSIM

This update applies to version N986USQU2DUC8 which is a version for TMB only. So if you want to use OTA update. You must change the CSC to the TMB region. Note that this update only supports SM-N986U variant

Method 1: Change CSC to TMB then OTA update to version N986USQU2DUC8

If your current version is lower than N986USQU2DUC8 only

Install Google Phone app from Play store

Open Phone app. Set to default Dialer. In the Phone app type *#*#27262826#*#*

then if CSC list shows. Select TMB then Install

After change CSC. Go to Update settings and check for new update and update to version N986USQU2DUC8

Method 2: Clean flash to version N986USQU2DUC8 using Odin

This method need a PC/Laptop and Odin to flash in Download mode

You can do a dirty flash but I recommend backup data and do a clean flash for better performance after update. So please backup all your data

  • Step 1: Download N986USQU2DUC8 here: N986USQU2DUC8 TMB
  • Step 2: Download Odin
  • Step 3: Extract firmware zip, bring your phone to Download mode by Turn off phone then Plugin cable after hold Volume up and Volume down button. Release button after phone in Download mode
  • Step 4: In Odin, Select BL, AP, CP, CSC file from its slot then press FLASH

After finish, phone will reboot and may take few mins to finish first boot.

This version supports eSIM, but Samsung may or may not support your eSIM carrier. You can just try or call to Samsung support from your country.

In addition to the eSIM-enabled OTA update, Samsung's new system update also fixes security patches aimed at improving device stability. Although the Galaxy S21 series phones have not yet received support for eSIM cards in the US, international media have said that the OTA update of this phone series will be rolled out in the near future.
