Samsung opened the One UI 7 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 series in select markets. The company also detailed all the new features of One UI 7.0. In addition to the Galaxy AI features and the new user interface, Samsung also added and improved security and privacy.

One UI 7.0 adds and improves security

Samsung has added five security features to One UI 7.0: Knox Matrix Dashboard, data recovery methods for Advanced Data Protection, passkey support for Samsung Account and Auto-Block restrictions, and improved Anti-Theft Protection.

Knox Matrix Dashboard

Knox Matrix is a blockchain-based security monitoring system. A private blockchain is created between your Samsung devices – including home appliances, phones, tablets, and TVs – and monitors for threats.

With Knox Matrix Dashboard, you can see the security status of all your devices. In case of a security issue, actions that can mitigate the risk are recommended.

Data Recovery Method for Advanced Data Protection

Advanced Data Protection ensures that data on Samsung Cloud is end-to-end encrypted and synced across all your Galaxy devices.

If one of your devices is lost, you can restore data from that device to a new one. This can be done by verifying the lost device's password, pattern, or PIN.

Passkey support for Samsung Account

While Samsung has added passkey support to One UI 6.1, you still can't use passkeys with Samsung Accounts.

With One UI 7.0, you can create a passkey for your Samsung Account and use it to log in to your Samsung devices, including refrigerators, phones, tablets, TVs, and more.

Improved Auto Block Maximum Restriction

When you enable the Maximum Restriction option on your Galaxy phone or tablet running One UI 7.0, the device will not connect to 2G networks and unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

You can also block USB connections (except charging) when the device is locked.

Improved Anti-Theft Protection

With One UI 7.0's Identity Check feature, if your phone is in an unfamiliar location, biometric authentication will be required to change the device's security settings.

The one-hour security delay feature prevents strangers from immediately changing the security settings of your Galaxy device, such as the PIN.
