One UI 6.1 will offer a new feature called Battery Protection. However, this feature appeared on One UI 6.0.

The One UI 6.0 update offers a lot of new features. However, as usual, Samsung will show its full potential with the next Android 14-based update: One UI 6.1. We already have information about a few new features that will be introduced. One of them is Battery Protection. However, this feature can be used on devices running One UI 6.0.

Basics about One UI 6.1's Battery Guard feature

The battery protection feature will give you many options. Through that, users can decide how the phone battery will be charged. First is the Basics. If you select this option, the power will be cut off when the phone battery reaches 100%. The device will only be recharged when the battery reaches 95%. This process will be repeated until you unplug the power.

The second option is Adaptive, which will pause charging the device when the battery reaches 80%. The battery then continues to charge to 100% only when you are about to wake up.

The last option is Maximum, which will stop charging the device completely when the battery hits 80%. This is the best way to preserve battery health over the long term. In return, the device will not last too long after each charge.

How to enable this feature on One UI 6.0

According to an X user, the Battery Guard feature can be easily enabled on devices running One UI 6.0 through a third-party app: Activity Launcher.

After opening this app, look for Battery Protection activity. After turning it on, you will see the three options mentioned above. Note that this feature is still in development. Therefore, it may not work properly in some cases.
