The Galaxy S24 series comes pre-installed with One UI 6.1 right from the factory. The most prominent addition to the new software is Galaxy AI – a handy set of AI features for everyday tasks.

Last month, the company rolled out One UI 6.1 to last year's premium phones and tablets, including the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy S23 series, and Galaxy Tab S9 series. Additionally, they also get most of the Galaxy AI features.

Yesterday, Samsung released One UI 6.1 for the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. While One UI 6.1 on the Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy The Z Fold 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 have most of the Galaxy AI features, the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S21 series only get one feature: Circle to search with Google.

Why doesn't Samsung bring other Galaxy AI features, such as Live Interpretation, Smart Chat Assistant, Creative Post-Production, and Smart Browser, to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the Galaxy series? S21? It could be because they don't have enough processing power or the company doesn't want to bring Galaxy AI to the older devices.

If it's due to the second reason, Samsung may do so because if older devices experience Galaxy AI, users may not have a reason to upgrade to the latest Galaxy device. This is not what any company – including Samsung – wants. Even so, it's still a disappointment and the company could face backlash from users.
