Samsung has been working more closely with Google over the past few years. Many of the new features that Google develops for Android and WearOS appear on Samsung devices first. The two companies even developed Wear OS 3 together.
It looks like Samsung will be the first Android brand to integrate Gemini with native apps in One UI 7.0.
Native apps in One UI 7.0 may integrate with Google's Gemini
Screenshots revealing Gemini's integration with native apps in One UI 7.0 have been leaked online. Calendar, Notes, and Reminders will work with Gemini to help you in your daily life.
With Gemini, you can create, edit, and delete events in Calendar. You can also pull information from images to create events in Calendar. You can create and summarize notes using voice commands. You can also retrieve notes based on a short description.
Gemini also has the ability to create reminders for a specific date or time, edit reminders, search for reminders, and delete reminders within Reminder.
What can't Gemini do with One UI 7.0 native apps?
There are a few limitations you should be aware of. In Calendar, you can't share events or find duplicate events using Gemini. You can't create and delete folders, add tags to notes, or invite people to collaborate in Notes.
Reminder can't add locations or photos to reminders, edit categories, or add to-do lists. Hopefully, Samsung and Google will address these limitations in the future.
When will these features be released?
Since the screenshots contain refreshed app icons with One UI 7.0, it's likely that Gemini can only integrate with One UI 7.0 native apps and above.
Samsung will release the stable version of One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series next month. The Galaxy S25 series will run One UI 7.0 out of the box.
