The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition is only available in two countries and is sold in extremely limited quantities, but Samsung has been releasing regular software updates for the device.

The Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition went on sale in October 2024 and has been getting monthly updates ever since. This month is no different. It received its third software update this week. The update is currently rolling out in South Korea. Those who carry their phones to other countries can also download the update.

The January 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition can be identified by the baseband version F958NKSS2AXLF. There are no improvements other than security.

It is still unclear when the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition will get One UI 7.0 (based on Android 15). If I had to guess, I'd bet on February, as that's also when Samsung is likely to bring One UI 7.0 to some of its high-end Galaxy models, including eligible Galaxy S series models.

To manually download the latest update, open the Settings app, tap Software update, and finally select Download some settings.
