It's been about a week since Samsung rolled out the first beta of One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy S24 series in the US, Germany, and South Korea. Other countries in the One UI Beta Program will have to wait a few more days.

Many were hoping that Samsung could start rolling out the beta to more products soon, especially the Galaxy S23 series. However, it seems that this won't happen anytime soon, as they've just received the December 2024 security update.

Galaxy S23 owners will have to wait for the One UI 7.0 beta

Yesterday, Samsung started rolling out the December 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in South Korea. The update has the baseband version S91xNKSS5CXKA. There are no other improvements other than security.

This is not a good sign for Galaxy S23 owners, especially those who have been patiently waiting for the first beta of One UI 7.0. In the past, new betas have been rolled out with the security patches of the month.

There may be other products that get the One UI 7.0 beta before the Galaxy S23 series, such as the newly launched Galaxy Z series. Therefore, there is still a chance that other products besides the Galaxy S24 series will get the One UI 7.0 beta this year.

Regardless, Galaxy S23 owners will surely be happy to see the first beta of One UI 7.0 released. The new software brings a lot of useful new features like the Now Bar, improved privacy and security, and a completely new user interface.
