Samsung introduced several AI features with the Galaxy S24 series and One UI 6.1, which has now been released for many older products like the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung reportedly plans to bring more Galaxy AI features with One UI 6.1.1, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Galaxy Z Fold 6. However, the interface changes and improvements will be reserved for the One UI 7.0.
One UI 6.1.1 will improve Galaxy AI, while One UI 7.0 will have interface changes
Samsung teased a few days ago that it will expand the Galaxy AI feature set in the future. Recently, reliable tipster @UniverseIce claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will come with a few new Galaxy AI features. One of them might be interesting. However, he did not reveal any more information about it. As expected, Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 will run One UI 6.1.1 right from the factory.
If you were expecting design changes with One UI 6.1.1, you may be disappointed to learn that @UniverseIce said in an X post that One UI 7.0 will “dramatically improve” the interface—user interface (UI) and user experience (UX). The new software could be released in the last quarter of this year.
One UI 7.0 is being developed internally. The beta for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series will likely be released soon. After that, the stable version of One UI 7.0 will be released for many devices in the Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series.
Rumor has it that One UI 7.0 will let you scroll through apps vertically. Currently, One UI only supports horizontal pagination for app screens. There will be even more design changes with One UI 7.0. More information about the update will likely leak in the last quarter of the year.
