With the Galaxy A15, Samsung is now guaranteeing that Galaxy phones will receive four operating system upgrades regardless of price.

Earlier this month, Samsung announced two new Galaxy A series phones: Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A25. Their hardware is upgraded compared to its predecessor. More importantly, they are devices running One UI 6.0 right out of the box.

Last year, the Galaxy A24 was the cheapest Samsung phone to receive four operating system upgrades. The next generation โ€“ Galaxy A25 โ€“ is expected to be the same. Not stopping there, Samsung has promised to update the Galaxy A15's operating system four times this year!

In other words, Samsung is now ensuring every Galaxy phone model gets four OS upgrades regardless of price. We hope Samsung will learn from Google's seven-year operating system update policy in the future. However, the company doesn't need to rush, after all, there are many new devices that Samsung has to support every year.

In addition to experiencing Android 18, the Galaxy A15 will also receive security updates for five years. Since December 27, Samsung has not officially revealed how often the Galaxy A15 receives security updates. We expect the product to receive them every three months similar to other budget Galaxy phones.
