Samsung's September 2024 update patches 67 vulnerabilities

Just a day after Google released its September 2024 update for its Pixel phones and Android devices in general, Samsung has revealed its latest update for its Galaxy phones and tablets.

The September 2024 update patches 67 vulnerabilities found in the previous version of the software. Of these, 44 patches come from Google; the rest come from Samsung.

Of the 44 patches provided by Google, one is marked “Critical,” while 32 have a “High” priority. The patches provided by Samsung are mostly of “High” or “Medium” priority. The company provided information about some of the vulnerabilities it patched with the September 2024 update. Accordingly, Samsung found issues in WindowManagerService, Your Files, Theme Center, Performance Monitor, One UI, Samsung DeX, and Samsung Knox.

Samsung has released the September 2024 update for the Galaxy S24 series. Other high-end phones and tablets may have to wait a few more days.

Mid-range and low-cost phones and tablets may get the update before the end of the month. Many locked devices may have to wait a little longer.

What about One UI 6.1.1?

One UI 6.1.1 was released with the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Galaxy Z Fold 6 and just arrived on the Galaxy S24 series. Other products will have to wait a little longer.

Notably, the update for the Galaxy S24 series is called One UI 6.1.1, which is a surprise since previous One UI x.1.1 updates were usually only released for Galaxy tablets and foldable phones.
