Samsung hasn't changed One UI much in the past three years. Last year, the Quick Settings Panel was the only major change in One UI 6.0. However, the company is expected to bring many major design improvements with One UI 7.0 - which is based on Android 15.

One UI 7.0 may bring new app icons

According to a new report from reliable tipster @UniverseIce, Samsung will redesign many user interface elements with One UI 7.0. β€œOne UI 7 could be the most changed version in the history of One UI,” the tipster claims. Accordingly, Samsung will change the design of application icons with the new version of One UI.

Samsung usually doesn't change the design of app icons. They usually do this every five years. So it looks like One UI 7.0 will get an interface overhaul. Many of the company's fans will be happy to hear this news. A previous report said that Samsung may introduce a Vertical Scrolling App Screen with One UI 7.0.

When will One UI 7.0 be announced and released?

Samsung may launch the One UI 7.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S24 series in the next two months. The program will then be opened to older premium phone models, such as the Galaxy S23 series in the following weeks. Samsung may release a few betas before announcing the stable version of One UI 7.0 at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 on October 3, 2024.

If nothing changes, Samsung may release the stable version of One UI 7.0 in October or November this year. Many high-end and mid-range phone models will be upgraded to One UI 7.0 before the end of this year. Meanwhile, old and low-cost mid-range phone models can be upgraded in the first quarter of 2025.
