eSIM is gradually replacing physical SIM cards. Therefore, Google has decided to start focusing on developing an eSIM transfer method for all Android phone models. However, this functionality is currently limited.
eSIM will be popularized in the Android village when eSIM transfer tools are widely available
According to a new report, a Galaxy S24 Ultra user is setting up their device and is given the option to transfer the eSIM from the old device to the new one by scanning a QR code. That person even took screenshots of the Pixel 8 Pro and Galaxy S24 Ultra as proof. I hope this feature will be available to everyone in the future.
It's also worth noting that Samsung has released its own SIM transfer tool with One UI 5.1. However, this tool is limited to Galaxy devices. However, it seems that with the latest change, more devices will be supported.
At the time I wrote this, this feature was only available to T-Mobile network users in the United States. However, this tool may be widely available in the future. I hope that in the future, transferring eSIM from one device to another will become extremely easy for everyone.
