Last year, a well-known tipster claimed that Samsung was developing a rollable display phone that could be released in 2025. Almost a year later, we have more information on the matter.
According to THEELEC, Samsung is developing a rollable display phone that will be released in 2025. The publication claims that the rollable display on the phone will be 12.4”, which is larger than the 10.2” display of the Mate XT Ultimate that is currently making waves in the tech community.
It is likely that the product will use the 12.4” rollable display that Samsung Display announced at the SID Display Week 2023 event. In addition, the report also said that the phone will have an under-display camera.
If the report is accurate, Samsung will be the first company in the world to commercialize a rollable display phone. No other brand is expected to launch a rollable phone by 2025.
Samsung launched its first foldable Galaxy phone – the Galaxy Fold 5G – more than five years ago in February 2019. While some of the world’s biggest phone makers – including Apple – have yet to catch up with Samsung in terms of foldable phone development, Samsung is still trying to outdo itself and carve out a new market.
With less than a year to go until the product is launched, we should start seeing more leaks about the device. Be sure to check back often to make sure you don’t miss any of the latest news!
