As always, Samsung has a significant influence at CES 2024. From AI to robotics to displays, the company has a lot of new technology to show off at the electronics show taking place in Las Vegas. One of Samsung's latest prototypes could take the Galaxy Z series to the next level.

The prototype we're talking about is called the In&Out Flip. This is a Samsung Display phone model with the ability to fold and open 360°. This form factor eliminates the need for an external display as the main display can also be folded outward. The company says the use of a single screen allows the device to have a sleeker and thinner design.

“In&Out Flip is a technology that can provide a new alternative for consumers who prefer stick-shaped smartphones due to the thickness of foldable products. When folded outward, both the front and back of the product can be used as a display, creating a new user experience.” — A representative of Samsung Display said

Samsung also touts the In&Out Flip's durability, saying that the panel has undergone folding and unfolding tests at extreme temperatures ranging from -20°C to -60°C. The company also tested the durability of the display by bouncing basketballs on it, rubbing it with sand, and soaking it in water.

In addition to In&Out Flex, Samsung also introduced other folding and rollable screen prototypes at CES 2024. One of them is called Rollable Flex, which makes the screen five times the original size when rolled out. The company also has a prototype called Flex Hybrid, which can both fold and slide.
