Samsung is gearing up to roll out its next major software update, One UI 8, based on Android 16, which is expected to launch alongside its new foldable phones in July. As usual, the company will launch a beta program in select regions ahead of the official release, allowing users to get early access and provide feedback. However, not all models in the Galaxy S25 series are guaranteed to be included, and the Galaxy S25 Edge could be left out.

The Galaxy S25 series currently consists of four models: the S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, and S25 Edge. There's also the Galaxy S25 FE, which is expected to launch later with One UI 8 pre-installed, so it's not involved in the beta program. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra have already appeared in internal testing, while the S25 Edge has yet to see any beta firmware leaks.

The reason is likely because the Galaxy S25 Edge is still in the pre-order phase and has not yet been delivered to many users. This makes it difficult for Samsung to attract enough devices to participate in testing in key markets such as India, China, South Korea, Germany, Poland, the UK, and the US.

Even if the company plans to release a beta for the S25 Edge, the update timing will be slower than the other three models. Meanwhile, the One UI 8 testing program may start as early as late May or early June. Users should still wait for more official information from Samsung in the near future.
