While Samsung has rolled out the One UI 7 Beta program for the Galaxy A55 in limited markets, users who are not part of the beta program or waiting for the stable version still have a reason to rejoice. The company has just released the April 2025 security patch for the Galaxy A55 in some regions.
Currently, the Galaxy A55 One UI 7 beta program is only available in South Korea and India, with the UK expected to be the next market. It is unlikely that Samsung will expand to other countries. The official version of One UI 7 is expected to be released globally in May. In the meantime, Galaxy A55 users who are still using One UI 6.1 will receive the April security update, while the beta version already has this patch integrated.
According to the report, Galaxy A55 users in India have started receiving the April security update, whereas Samsung released the One UI 7 beta not long ago. The new firmware for the 2024 mid-range smartphone has the model number A556EXXS7AYC8. This is an update that focuses on security patches, with no changes in features or interface. Those improvements will come with One UI 7 in the near future.
Regarding the patch content, Samsung has announced the details of the April security update on the official page. Specifically, this month's SMR (Security Maintenance Release) fixes at least 5 serious security vulnerabilities and nearly 50 high-impact bugs in the Android operating system as well as Galaxy's own components. In total, more than 60 security vulnerabilities have been addressed.
Samsung will continue to release the April patch for many other Galaxy devices in the coming days. Previously, the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, and Fold SE received this security update along with the stable One UI 7. Users can check for updates by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
