The phenomenon of green stripes appearing on the screen of Galaxy phones using AMOLED screens has been reported by users in recent years, especially after each major software update. However, this is the first time this phenomenon has been clearly recorded on video in real time, and the device "in trouble" this time is the Galaxy S21 FE.
A Reddit user in India shared a video showing his Galaxy S21 FE suddenly appearing with a green streak along the screen during the update to One UI 6.1 (Android 14). What's special is that this green streak appeared right when the update progress had just reached about 60%. This is considered the first visual evidence recording the moment the error occurred, instead of just seeing the results after the update.
According to this user, he knew about the risk of encountering the "green streak" error through feedback from the community, so he delayed the update for a long time. However, because of the constant update notifications, he decided to upgrade and carefully record the entire process in case of an incident, and it did happen.
Fortunately, Samsung is still supporting free screen replacement for these cases, as long as the device shows no signs of impact or physical damage. In India, the screen replacement support program has been extended until September 2025.
The green stripe issue on Galaxy devices remains a controversial topic among users, especially when it affects mid-range and high-end devices using AMOLED panels. Recording the moment the error occurs, like in this case, will help users have clearer evidence when taking the device to the warranty center.
