Samsung is having trouble with the One UI 7.0 rollout. It's been four months since Google released the stable version of Android 15, and most Galaxy devices have yet to receive the update. According to leaker Ice Universe, Samsung may roll out One UI 8 based on Android 16 faster than usual. This is seen as an effort to regain users' trust after the long delay of One UI 7.0. However, there's no guarantee that the update will reach users soon, especially since Google plans to release stable Android 16 for Pixel devices in June 2025.
If all goes well, the Galaxy S25 series will likely be the first to get One UI 8. However, older phones like the Galaxy S24 and S23 may have to wait longer. The speed of the rollout will depend on whether Samsung can finish distributing One UI 7.0 to eligible devices before Android 16 is officially released by Google.
