Samsung is pushing for a complete redesign of the One UI interface, and One UI 8.0 is clear evidence of this. After apps like Weather, Gallery, and My Files, now it's Samsung Internet's turn to get a complete "overhaul".
Right from the homepage, Samsung Internet has undergone a clear transformation with a cleaner and more modern interface. Instead of a monochrome background like before, the application now uses a customizable wallpaper, although this feature is still in the process of being completed. The interface elements are arranged more airily, creating a lighter and more pleasant feeling when used. In addition, a carousel displaying recently visited websites from devices linked to a Samsung account has also been added. The search bar can be displayed at the top or bottom of the screen, depending on the user's settings. The blur effect appears on many elements, such as the Privacy Report section, contributing to the overall aesthetic of the interface.
Not only stopping at the homepage, the main menu of Samsung Internet has also been completely redesigned, in sync with the new style of One UI 8.0. When you tap the three-bar button, a new pop-up menu will appear with 5 round buttons at the top and a grid of icons below. The main icons are color-coordinated to match the device's color scheme, while the menu background is subtly blurred, in line with the new design language of One UI. When browsing the web, the menu also displays the page title and a quick share button.
Overall, this interface upgrade of Samsung Internet brings a more modern, easy-to-use and intuitive feel. The menu is more organized with commonly used features placed at the top, the homepage is friendly and less confusing, creating a pleasant feeling right from the moment you open the application. Although there are still some details that need to be completed because this is not the official version, it can be seen that Samsung is moving in the right direction, promising many more interesting improvements in the future.
