Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 spotted running One UI 8

After a long wait, Samsung has officially released the first beta version of One UI 7.0 for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. The beta is currently available in India, South Korea, and the US, while the UK will receive the update soon. However, what's more noteworthy is that Samsung has quickly started internal testing of One UI 8.0 based on Android 16 for these two foldable phones.

According to @KeepUPwithOneUI on the X platform, the One UI 8.0 build has been spotted on Samsung's servers for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Specifically, the software version is recorded as F956BXXU2CYC1 for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and F741BXXU2CYC1 for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This testing is taking place in India, indicating that Samsung is speeding up the development of One UI 8.0.

Additionally, Samsung has also started testing One UI 8.0 for the Galaxy S25 series. According to leaks, the development of One UI 8.0 started about two months earlier than usual, possibly because Google was also accelerating the release of Android 16. A Samsung executive recently revealed that Android 16 is expected to launch in June, significantly earlier than the Android 15 schedule. This could be one of the reasons why One UI 8.0 is being developed earlier than previous versions.

The first beta of One UI 8.0 is expected to launch in Q3 2025 if everything goes according to plan. Samsung's accelerated testing could help the update launch earlier than One UI 7.0, which was delayed by six months from its original schedule. If everything goes smoothly, One UI 8.0 could be released to stable much sooner than previous versions.
