Samsung continues to roll out the February 2025 security update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 after releasing a similar patch for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. This update focuses on enhancing security and fixing software vulnerabilities to ensure the device operates more stably.
Currently, the update is only available for the carrier-locked Galaxy Z Flip 4 version in the US with model number SM-F721U. According to the records, the new software version with code F721USQS7GYA5 has been released to at least three major carriers: DISH, MetroPCS, and T-Mobile. Samsung is expected to expand the update coverage to international versions in the near future.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 users in the US can check for and install the update by accessing Settings, selecting Software update, then tapping Download and Install. If your device has received an update notification, simply tap on the notification and follow the instructions to complete the upgrade.
In addition to the security patch, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is also on the list of devices that will receive the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 update. However, Samsung has not yet provided a specific time frame for when this software version will be rolled out. The delay in the One UI 7.0 release has disappointed many users, especially since the Galaxy S25 series shipped with the latest software version right from the start.
Galaxy Z Flip 4 users are still waiting for an official announcement from Samsung regarding the One UI 7.0 update schedule. We will continue to monitor and update the latest information as soon as more details become available.
