Samsung Galaxy S25 receives March 2025 security update

Samsung has just released a new update for the Galaxy S25 series, bringing the March 2025 security patch. However, the update does not bring any new features and mainly focuses on improving security.

Currently, Galaxy S25 users in South Korea have started receiving the update with software version number S938NKSU1AYC3. The letter 'U' in the build number suggests that this update includes more changes than just the usual security patches. However, the update log does not specifically mention new features or improvements.

The update for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is 577MB in size, suggesting that there may be some stability and performance improvements on the device in addition to over 50 different security patches. These patches include 11 critical security vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and many other issues related to Samsung's software.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S25 series, including the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, still hasn't received the feature upgrades that some older devices got via the One UI 7 beta update. Improvements like media player support for Live Notifications in the status bar and enhanced charging effects have been made available to the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and others.

It's likely that Samsung will roll out these changes to the Galaxy S25 series in April when the stable version of One UI 7 is released more widely. Typically, new features are prioritized for premium devices first, but the One UI 7 development process seems to be inconsistent.

The March security update will continue to roll out to Galaxy S25 devices globally in the coming days. Additionally, many other Galaxy phones will also be updated to the latest security patch before Samsung fully shifts its focus to the One UI 7 rollout.
