Samsung has just released a new software update for the Galaxy S24 series, including the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra models. However, this update is not One UI 7 (Android 15) as many expected, but only adds the latest security patches. This may disappoint some users who have not yet experienced the latest software version on their high-end devices.
The fact that the Galaxy S25 has officially launched globally has led many to expect that Samsung will quickly release the One UI 7 update to older flagship models. However, this seems unlikely in February. Samsung tends to delay security updates before releasing new versions of Android and One UI. This could be a sign that Galaxy S24 users will have to wait longer before receiving the major update.
Additionally, it is reported that Samsung will continue to roll out the fourth beta version of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series. This means that the official update will likely only be released in late February or even March. If you are using another Galaxy device that is eligible for the upgrade, you may have to wait even longer to get One UI 7.
Meanwhile, the latest update for the Galaxy S24 has now started rolling out in South Korea. It comes with the February 2025 security patch and has the build number S928NKSS4AYA1. Interestingly, the January security patch in some markets like India also has the same build number, so the codename of the February update may vary depending on the region and the current firmware of the device.
To check if there's an update available for your device, go to Settings > Software update and select Download and install. If there isn't one, you may need to wait a few days or check again later.
