Samsung India has officially extended its one-time free screen replacement program for Galaxy devices with the “green stripe” error. Originally scheduled to end in December 2024, the program has now been extended to September 30, 2025. Eligible users will get their screens replaced for free at authorized service centers, without having to pay any additional costs.

According to information confirmed by Samsung's customer care department in India, the program applies to the entire Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 series. While not all Galaxy devices are supported, this is a welcome move given the increasing number of users reporting the green stripe issue.

The “green stripe” error is a phenomenon where one or more green lines appear along the screen. This issue has been reported to commonly appear on Galaxy S21 and S22 devices, especially after a software update. While the exact cause is unknown, many users believe that this is an issue with the AMOLED panel hardware.

Recently, there have been a number of reports from Galaxy S23 users experiencing similar issues. One notable case is that an S23 Ultra user was offered a free screen replacement even though the device was out of warranty, suggesting that Samsung is taking a more proactive approach to screen-related issues.

If you are using a Galaxy S21 or S22 in India and your device is experiencing the green line issue, now is the perfect time to take it to a Samsung authorized service center. The support program is valid until September 30, 2025, and it is unlikely to be extended again.
