After One UI 7 is widely deployed, Galaxy users will soon welcome a new software version: One UI 8. According to reliable sources, Samsung is currently testing One UI 8 internally, and the beta version for users may start as early as next June.

Information from leak expert @tarunvats33 on X said that the One UI 8 beta program is likely to be launched by Samsung earlier than expected, in preparation for the official release plan around July or August. This is a reasonable move, because the company needs a few months to test and fix errors before releasing the official version to the market.

Samsung has not yet confirmed any details related to the One UI 8 Beta program, which is not surprising. In recent years, Samsung has usually only officially announced a few days before the testing program opens to users.

One UI 8 is built on top of Android 16, but judging by the initial test builds, it looks like a rebranded One UI 7.1, with minor improvements and tweaks to performance, interface, and some user experiences. The move to bundle these changes into One UI 8 instead of releasing a separate 7.1 version is to help Samsung shorten its software update cycle, after One UI 7 was delayed quite a bit compared to the original plan.

If everything goes as planned, Galaxy users in select markets will soon experience One UI 8 Beta from next month. This will be an important stepping stone for Samsung to be ready to release the official version this summer.
