Samsung continues to delay One UI 7.0, testing program may last until April

It's mid-February, but One UI 7.0 still shows no signs of hitting the stable version. Instead of rolling out early, recent reports suggest that Samsung will continue to release betas for the Galaxy S24 until April, with at least three more betas before it's complete. If the rumor is true, the upcoming Beta 4 won't be the final version, as Samsung is said to be preparing both Beta 5 and Beta 6.

The delay has left many Galaxy users feeling impatient, especially since One UI 7.0 is expected to be a major update, bringing many new AI features, along with a redesigned UI. Samsung has spent a lot of time developing and refining this version, but the update process is running much slower than its annual schedule, making the software rollout slower than its competitors.

The Galaxy S24 was originally scheduled to receive a stable update early this year, but Samsung has now confirmed that it will be rolling out a new beta next week instead. This is surprising since it has been nearly six weeks since Beta 3 was released, suggesting that testing is not yet complete.

According to the leaker on X, Samsung is planning at least two more betas, with a month between them. This means that the final beta could be released in April, and the stable version of One UI 7.0 could be pushed back to May.

This delay will not only affect One UI 7.0 but could also impact One UI 7.1 or subsequent minor updates. What’s more worrying is that if this schedule continues to drag on, Samsung risks falling behind on One UI 8.0, which is based on Android 16. If One UI 7.0 takes so long to complete, will Samsung be able to update to Android 16 before Google announces the new version?

Galaxy users have been patient, but the extended beta cycle seems to be testing their patience. Samsung needs to come up with a clear update schedule sooner rather than delaying it further. It’s time for the company to speed up and release the stable version of One UI 7.0 instead of dragging out the testing process.
