After the unfortunate delays with One UI 7, Samsung seems to be working hard to ensure that One UI 8 launches on schedule. Recently, One UI 8 builds have continued to leak, revealing many notable changes ahead of the official update expected to launch with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 duo in July. Now, the first One UI 8 beta build has appeared on Samsung's servers, suggesting that internal testing has begun.

The newly discovered internal One UI 8 beta firmware for the Galaxy S25 Ultra has the code S938BXXU3ZYEA. This is a new step up from the previously leaked S938BXXU2BYDD, suggesting that Samsung is continuing to speed up the testing process. Notably, the "Z" character in the version string suggests that this is an official internal beta and not an initial engineering test.

While it is not yet a public beta, this suggests that One UI 8 has entered the next stage of development. The latest report suggests that the public beta program could begin as early as the third week of May 2025. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to be the first devices to ship with One UI 8 as soon as it hits shelves in early July.

Unlike One UI 7, which focused on interface upgrades, the One UI 8 update is said to optimize performance, refine the user experience, and expand existing features. Some notable new features rumored include improvements to Samsung DeX, Quick Share, RAM Plus, Samsung Internet, Camera, Secure Folder, and Now Bar. In addition, users can also expect new AI features and security upgrades.
