Samsung has just started rolling out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy A54, becoming the third mid-range smartphone to get the Android 15 update, after the Galaxy A55 and A35. In the coming time, the company plans to continue expanding One UI 7 to more mid-range and budget devices. Eligible flagships have already completed the update.
Currently, the Galaxy A54 is receiving the One UI 7 update in South Korea, where the device is known as the Galaxy Quantum 4. The update has the firmware code A546SKSU9DYD7, is about 3.4GB in size, and is likely to come with the April or May 2025 security patch. Samsung will soon release this update in many other regions in the near future.
One UI 7 brings many notable upgrades in both interface and user experience. The interface is refreshed with redesigned icons, larger home screen folders, smooth transition effects, a vertically scrolling app drawer for easier navigation, more customizable widgets, and a dynamic lock screen with many editable elements.
A notable new feature is the Now Bar, which allows information such as music playback status to be displayed on the lock screen in real time. Many Samsung apps have also been tweaked to better synchronize with the overall system, providing a more modern and unified experience.
While One UI 7 is being widely deployed on many Galaxy devices, Samsung is also preparing for the One UI 8 update based on Android 16. The beta phase could start as early as next week, with the first stable version expected to be released in July. However, the general release is likely to happen in August or September. We will continue to update with more information as we have news.
