One UI 7.0 Beta 5 brings major upgrades to Now Bar and live notifications on Galaxy S24

Samsung is getting closer to the official release of One UI 7.0, which is expected to launch next month. The update will bring Android 15 to Galaxy devices while introducing a host of new features and improvements. Ahead of the stable release, Samsung has continued to roll out new betas, with the Galaxy S24 just receiving One UI 7.0 Beta 5 with many notable upgrades.

In this release, Samsung has brought some important changes that were not mentioned in the official changelog. Notably, Live Notifications on the status bar now supports media players, making it more convenient for users to follow live-streaming content. In addition, the Now Bar on the lock screen has also been updated to display real-time sports results from Google, allowing users to quickly update the scores of their favorite teams right on the lock screen without opening the app.

Another notable change is the revamped Quick Settings grid interface, which looks cleaner and more intuitive. For the Galaxy S24 and S24+, One UI 7.0 Beta 5 also adds Samsung Log Video support to the camera app, allowing users to record videos with more in-depth post-editing capabilities.

These upgrades, along with the fixes listed in the official changelog, add to the overall One UI 7.0 experience on the Galaxy S24 series. However, one notable detail is that Samsung has yet to change the battery icon, which is considered too large compared to the overall interface. It is unclear whether this is a design flaw or an intentional decision by the company, but it is clear that this is creating a lack of consistency in the Galaxy's user interface.

Still, with improvements to live notifications, Now Bar, and camera features, One UI 7.0 Beta 5 is bringing more useful experiences, helping the Galaxy S24 continue to maintain its position before the official update is launched.
