Now Brief feature on One UI 7 is about to be added with "Battery Status" and many new improvements

The Now Brief feature that debuted on the Galaxy S25 series may no longer be exclusive to Samsung’s latest flagship line. Recently, users discovered traces of this feature in the One UI 7 beta update for older Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy S24.

While Samsung has not confirmed whether Now Brief will officially be released for previous models, its appearance in the test firmware suggests that the company may be testing its feasibility.

Notably, the Now Brief version hidden in the One UI 7 beta also revealed two new options that have never been seen on the Galaxy S25: Battery Status and Blocked Messages. This suggests that Samsung is planning to expand the capabilities of Now Brief, giving users quick information about battery status as well as notifications about blocked messages – all displayed directly on the lock screen interface.

Now Brief Could Get Upgraded in Next Week's One UI 7 Update

While the Galaxy S25 ships with One UI 7, that software build isn't the final build. In recent betas for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6, Samsung has continued to add new features, like Live Notifications support for the music player and improved charging animations.

Samsung is preparing to release the stable One UI 7 update for older Galaxy devices starting April 7. At the same time, the Galaxy S25 series will also receive an additional update with a number of improvements to features and the user interface – which will likely include an upgraded version of Now Brief with two newly discovered new features.

Now Brief is essentially a smart extension to the lock screen that displays useful information based on the time of day or the user's usage behavior. It's a tool that helps boost productivity and improve the smartphone experience.

We'll soon find out if Samsung expands Now Brief to more Galaxy devices when the official One UI 7 update is released next week.
