After releasing the March 2025 security patch for the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Samsung continues to roll out a similar update for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 - a high-end foldable phone launched in 2024.
This security patch helps fix many important security vulnerabilities, ensuring the device operates more stably and securely. However, it is currently only available for the Korean version with model number SM-F946N. Users in this region can update to software version F946NKSS5DYBD.
For users in other regions, the update may be rolled out soon. If you are in Korea, you can check and download the update by going to Settings, selecting Software update, then tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can also download the firmware from the official source and install it manually.
Regarding One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is eligible to receive this update. According to the original plan, Samsung planned to release it at the end of last year, but there is still no official information about the launch date.
It is worth noting that Samsung has started beta testing the One UI 7.0 on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. With this roadmap, it is likely that the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 will be updated soon in the near future.
